Children receive backpacks with food on Friday afternoon and return the empty backpack to school the following Monday to be replenished the next weekend. Back Pack Buddies is made possible by N.H.B.C. volunteers, Ameris Bank, The Fishermen For the Hungry, Second Harvest of South Ga. Food Bank, and the staff of local schools.

Any individual, any organization, or business, is welcome to participate in this most worthy program as a sponsor or volunteer. The church always welcomes donations, without which the program could not exist.

The program needs shelf stable, pop-top items that children can easily serve themselves, considering that there may not be adult supervision in the homes. Each backpack costs $10. To sponsor a backpack for a four distribution costs approximately $30. Backpacks can also be sponsored for one year for $390 each.

It is the goal of the Back Pack Blessings to leave no child hungry.
